Ahoy...
Long time no see... .
I am still alive.
And if you are reading this, well-done for surviving the Covid pandemic and all its 'perks'. If you lost anyone dear, my utmost condolences. Take your time to grief, heal, then please continue living. I hope the world will be a better place for all of us, despite all things currently happening on the surface of Mother Earth. Let's all do our best from here onwards, again.
I will mainly be linking youtube videos (from my channel of course), as I haven't been taking pictures a lot to document my travels (not that I have been doing a lot, as you know - covid). Lately I feel videos capture memories so much better. It is a bit troublesome to stitch and edit them together, of course, but once they are done, I could recollect what I did so vividly.
Anywhoo, onto the main post... .
During the Easter long weekend (15 April - 18 April 2022), we travelled towards Hawkesbury area, north of Sydney. From our place, it was about 50 minutes - 1 hour drive. And we brought our second furchild with us - Sake the Mini Dachshund. The cats were content to stay at home just staring at random insects passing by beyond the fly screen... . (and they were well-fed by our good friend who looked after them during our vacation)
If you lived in NSW, you'd known and experienced the crazy weather where the sky seemed to be hell-bent in drowning all of us. So we were kind of worried about the prospect of heading towards the river. Sake is the better swimmer of all of us, but that's not too much comforting thought if we got flooded.
But the sun god definitely favored the long-weekend holiday-makers, as when we left the house, there was no single raincloud in sight.
We parked our cars at Brooklyn Central, and the host of our AirBNB drove her boat to pick us up (along with our supply equivalent to a small grocery store) to reach her place - boat-access only.
Accommodation: The Driftway - Bar Point, Hawkesbury
The place is adequate for families (with 3 bedrooms), and well-equipped with the necessities (full amenities listed on the AirBnB link above). Great fishing just off the private jetty or the public jetty (which our group utilized).
The host, Jenny, is a kind and wonderful lady. There's no such thing too difficult for her, and she addressed our - city-folks' - myriad of questions patiently and promptly, all the time towards our stay and after.
Sake was very happy as well, considering he has not been out much (due to the rain). He would lay on the deck soaking the morning sun.
A happy and well-deserved break for humans and pup.
