We went to Tokyo Disneysea today as I really wanted to go back to this place ever since I visited it on my first trip to Japan about 8 years ago. At that time, we did the compulsory visit to both theme park within the Disney Resort: DisneyLand and DisneySea (you have to pay separate entry ticket). But I prefer the latter so much more.
From Hatchobori Station, we took JR Keiyo Line Rapid (there is actually a few JR trains connecting Hatchobori and Maihama, Hyperdia is a very good website to check your route) straight to Maihama. The route is covered by the JR Rail Pass.
At Maihama station, it was pretty easy to figure out how to get to DisneySea.
Onboard of the Disney Resort Line - a monorail train connecting all stations within the Disney Resort
Boy was this place packed! We arrived around 10 a.m., got the fastpass for Tower of Terror for 8 p.m.! By little after mid-day, all the fastpasses for all attractions were exhausted.
Christmas Decorations were in full swing, too.
Lunch was equally a frustrating experience, where we also had to queue T_T
I purchased the special dessert item - right side of this pic, because I wanted the spoon. Ha. (JPY500 and you get the spoon :D) |
It was a cold and windy day in Disneysea (and it drizzled a bit), but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I have to say, Japan is the land of consumerism, ha! The characters capes, hats, and scarves flew off the shelves like there's no tomorrow. Every person seemed to have purchased at least one Disney's character's merchandises. (hey, us included, so who am I to judge.)
Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the parades as we pretty much waste our time in queuing lines... . But to close the day, some more pictures...
Happy Christmas, everyone. Hope you all are enjoying safe and joyful Christmas.
