Travel: Japan 2015 Day 9 // Hakone // Stay: Shirayu no Yado Yamadaya

27/12/15

After breakfast at Fujiginkei, we left Fuji-Goko to reach Hakone.

The shuttle bus took us to Kawaguchiko station, then we took the Fujikyu Bus to Gotemba station. Ask the information centre if you are not sure of the schedule & fares (I forgot the fare too -_-)

My day bag's strap was broken, so we headed to Gotemba Premium Outlet (there is a free shuttle bus from Gotemba Station).

The size of this place... . You can spend the whole day here.

From Gotemba Premium Outlet, there was a bus that took us direct to Gora Station (JPY 990 - bus stop no 3. Again, enquire at information centre at the outlet if you're not sure of the schedlue/location), where we boarded the cable car (JPY420) to reach Sounzan station. From then, we had to walk around 4 minutes to reach our accommodation for the day.

Shirayu no Yado Yamadaya is a beautiful Japanese style quaint ryokan located in the mountains of Hakone. Truly a place to relax. We paid a total of JPY45600 for one night (4 people), an extra JPY600 bathing tax was also payable on top.
This tariff includes dinner & breakfast (an awesome one at that)

View from our room
As we were strapped of time, we asked the reception to book us a taxi to take us to Hakone Jinja (costed about JPY4000, 17 minutes travel). And now I have just realized I didn't get the chance to take pictures of our room when it was still tidy (before the 4 of us wreck havoc in it. :D) T_T

Upon coming back to Yamadaya (called Hakone taxi to take us back with my limited nihongo - number was provided by Yamadaya front desk), we tried their onsen (3F and 4F, rotated for males & females' use on certain appointed times), which also includes outdoor onsen overlooking the mountains.
Then our dinner was served in our room, a wonderful sight to the eyes and taste to the tongue. Everything was impeccably presented and very well balanced.
