We sent our large suitcases by Ta-Q-Bin today to our destination in a few days time (Osaka) as we were going to visit Fuji-Goko and Hakone over the next few days and we don't want to lug our big bags around. The system is very convenient and punctual, so if you have large suitcases and travel around Japan to a lot of different places, I suggest to ask your concierge for help in sending your suitcases to your next destinations. It costs minimal compared to the convenience.
Today we visited Harajuku - arguably the 'it' place for Japanese youngsters. We felt like the oldest people there!
This was incredibly yummy:
From JR Harajuku station, it was about 15 minutes walk to reach the Meiji Jingu Shrine, a shinto shrine dedicated to the Meiji emperor and his empress Shoken. The shrine is located amongst a maaaassive garden, but it was truly a splendor clusters of buildings made of wood. Definitely recommended to go here.
The udon's texture was the best I've ever had!
Unfortunately I forgot the price of our meal :( See what happened when I postpone blogging rather than posting them on the day.

I wanted to take picture with Hachiko, well at least the statue of it (follow 'Hachiko Exit' Signage from the Tokyo Metro Shibuya station or JR Shibuya Station). However when we got there, there was a pack of crowds around the loyal dog. Why? Because of this:
Hachiko was catsitting! People kept petting the cat and it stayed nonchalant. I kid you not - your meowjesty didn't move at all, save opening its eyes and looked around lazily. I wondered if it was somehow drugged so it stayed still (or perhaps treated to too much catnip?)
The rest of Shibuya...

For our last stop of the day, we visited Shinjuku (bought a few star wars shirts from Uniqlo), more precisely to Kabukicho. What a different world. I thought Shinjuku and Shibuya was bright at night. But Kabukicho was practically dazzling with neons.
Famous Robot Restaurant |
Kabukicho is a red light district. You would find a LOT of host and hostess clubs, bars, *special* massage parlours, love hotels, and some shady guys clad in black with sleek hair. No idea if they are part of the local yakuza or just touts for the host clubs nearby.
Luckily for us, kabukicho is not just all exposed skin and flesh places. There are quite a few choices to eat (and small izakayas too if that is what you fancy). We had our dinner (Christmas Eve dinner. Ha!) at Tonchin Ramen.
You ordered at the vending machine and gave the tickets of your order to the cook or waitress.
